What happens when you finally get around to using one of the gift cards you received as a Christmas presents and the check out person informs you your gift card is no good? What then. I will tell you what then . . .You ask to see the manager and let him/her deal with the situation. And they do . . .
They tell you your card is no good. They ask you if you have the receipt . . .
Well no . . .The card is a gift. A Christmas present.
sadly enough i fully understand how the store will think the card is a dud on your part . . .People steal all the time and do other under handed things, it is the first thing the cash clerk has to think. The second thing they will think is that they are responsible for any money that does not add up at the end of the night where the profit are counted out. So someone is responsible for this money. And as far as they can see they are. IT IS UNDERSTANDABLE.
Yes understandable but not fair . . .NO SIR_REE NOT FAIR AT ALL. What are we to do about this . . .What can we do about this . . .We have the receipt but if the gift card did not scan when purchased what good is the receipt . . .None so we lose out both ways.
- We lose the money we did indeed pay for the gift card.
- We lose the use of the faulty card we bought.
- We lose our dignity standing at the cash arguing the card was a gift.
Well here is what we do, we see and chat with the person who gave the card as a Christmas gift and ask for the receipt.
Which was done in this case, as the matter of fact i am the buyer of the shopping gift card. I was at the store when my daughter tried to use it. But i did not have the receipt on me as i was not the one with the card, nor did i know the card was going to be used. But i was annoyed with the trouble she was having with this Christmas gift card i gave her.
So i gave her the receipt and she went shopping and as it turned out the receipt was not any good as the card was one of six that i had bought the same day, same time, as the rest.
Problem was when the cards were being swiped for the cost it was missed or something. So how do you fix that? You cry . . .well she cried. Now i have to go to the store Monday. I hate going to the store for stuff like that. I did it once and it was not pretty, although it did start out very nice, full of respect, and me on my first day of my period. Somebody is lucky somebody did not get hurt. Because i have a problem when things go from nice to bad and i am not the one making it bad.
Someone said once i was like a mad bull in heat . . .All i could do at that was laugh, as i could picture a mad bull in heat. Someone also said i had lips on me like barn doors flapping in a wind storm. I love laughing. I hope i laugh Monday.
